My story
"Here, we don't inherit land. We inherit a love for it."
My name is Juan Carlos Fernández García.
I'm 32 years old, live in Mancha Real, Jaén, and I'm the father of two little whirlwinds who, if all goes well, will be the sixth generation to care for these olive trees.
In my family, the land isn't just soil. It's a legacy.
My great-great-grandfather already cultivated olives, and before him... well, history gets lost among the roots of these ancient trees.
🌿 Growing Up Among Olive Trees
My best childhood memories aren't in parks or plazas.
They're among olive trees, with the scent of wet earth and hands stained with olives.
My father and grandfather taught me that the countryside doesn't adhere to schedules or holidays. That you have to be there when the olive tree needs you, and that each branch has its own character.
In school, while others drew houses or cars, I drew tractors loaded with olives. And it wasn't by chance.
At 16, I finished high school and knew clearly:
I didn't want offices or suits.
I wanted soil on my boots and oil on my hands.
I learned olive cultivation techniques, yes.
But the best advice came from my grandfather Juan, an tireless man and the hardest worker I've known. He was born on May 1st, Labor Day in Spain, and there couldn't be a more fitting date. He lived and died with his hands in the soil.
🫒 What Makes Our Oil Different?
It's not just about machines, techniques, or numbers.
It's about a love for the land, caring for each olive tree as if it were part of the family.
We use technology, of course.
But if we need to prune by hand, we do it.
If an olive tree needs water ahead of schedule, it gets it.
There's no rush here. Because good things aren't made in haste.
Each drop of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil carries centuries of history. And yes, you can taste it.
💚 More Than a Job. It's a Legacy.
I could uproot these ancient olive trees and plant intensive crops that produce more.
Many do.
But it wouldn't be the same.
These olive trees are living history.
They've seen generations pass. They've endured droughts, storms, and they're still here, strong.
My mission is simple:
Care for them and prepare the land for my children.
Just as my father, grandfather, and great-great-grandfather did.
